How We Do It

I became a personal trainer because I’ve had struggles with my own health that peaked in 2014. I gained over 50lbs! I gained it the same way anybody else does, life. Between work, family, stress, time, etc. I lost myself in the shuffle. Fortunately for me, I’d been an athlete for the better part of my life and I was able to course correct. My journey got me thinking about people who didn’t have an athletic foundation to pull from and I decided take action! I’ve always wanted to help people and what better way to do it than improving someone’s quality of life!
As I've worked with people over the years, I've come to realized that I'm as much a liaison as I am a personal trainer. By that I mean my job is not only to teach exercise techniques but to facilitate a mutually beneficial relationship between the mind and the body. The body does not function without the mind and as we grow older and further removed from activity we create a gap between the two. You may have been in a situation where in your mind you can perform some physical feat but your body fails you, it's certainly something I've experienced personally. People tend to want to dive right in and expect an instantaneous result not realizing that you have to retrain your body using a practical approach which takes time and starts with a muscular foundation. Practicality combined with the other pillars establish the mindset required to bridge the gap between mind body. As the gap closes, the result is an increase in your ability to move athletically whether it's playing with the kids or bringing up holiday decorations from your basement. Everyone needs a baseline of athleticism and we have a long life to develop and nurture it. Whenever you're ready, it's never too late!
